It Always Seems Impossible Until It Is Done.

"It always seems impossible until it is done" is a very famous quote by Nelson Mandela, which well describes each activity here at The Rock.

We welcome different groups to come and experience the outdoors together. Each group has access to our various team building activities which are aimed at teams working together towards one common goal.

At first glance our guests look on with dread. We see it with each group that comes over for the experience. But the end result is almost always identical. A sigh of relief and knowing that what they thought would be an impossible task actually is possible. We hope that everyone leaves The Rock with the motivation and courage to encounter anything and remember this very famous quote.

We invite you to visit our gallery to see some of our past activities.

Fall In Love With Magaliesburg http://leapinggiants.com/fall-in-love-with-magaliesburg/ Mon, 29 Aug 2016 16:19:33 +0000 http://leapinggiants.com/?p=259

Fall In Love With Magaliesburg

I've fallen under the spell of the Magaliesburg Mountain Range. I've lived here officially for six months. I've made it my daily goal to explore this mountain range and discover the numerous amazing views. It is with this passion, I've joined the Leaping Giants Team with the hopes of sharing my love for this mountainous range, which has won the status as a World Biosphere Reserve. Making it the 8th in South Africa.

In these mountains I have found inner peace. I have silenced the hustle and bustle of the city life. You just have to be here to experience it. I invite you to come out and experience it. It should be a must do on any bucket list.

The views here are simply magnificent! The landscape vast and overwhelming, providing endless adventure possibilities. My most favourite moments are the sunsets. At the end of a long day, seated under the Magalies skies, my family close by enjoying dinner under the twinkling stars. In these moments I am humbled by God's grace, mercy and love. God's creations are beautiful. And I am lucky enough to enjoy it each day.

This mountain range has emerged on the international spotlight thanks to UNESCO's declaration last year of it as a World Biosphere Reserve. And as the Lord would have it, I'm here basking in his glory. I get to wake up here by his grace daily!

What is a Biosphere?

A biosphere is a mutually beneficial relationship between nature and people, under the guidance of a management board of interested parties.

South Africa now boasts eight biosphere reserves. The others are Kogelberg, the Cape West Coast, Waterberg, Kruger to Canyons, the Cape Winelands,  Vhembe and Gouritz Cluster.

This includes the historical Cradle of Humankind situated in Maropeng, located just across the Valley from Magaliesburg.

The Magaliesburg is made up of farms, private reserves and a wealth of retreats and lodges ranging from rustic to luxurious. Leaping Giants has 2 properties under our umbrella to service you. These are:

  1. Cornerstone Lodge
  2. The Rock

We also work in close partnership with Stoney Ridge and xxxxx.

People come here to escape the strains and stresses of the city life.

For the die hard nature lovers here are some quick resources to read to get much more extensive information about the Magaliesburg Biosphere.

  1. The Magaliesberg
  2. Flowers of Magaliesberg

Olympics 2016 Come to A Wrap http://leapinggiants.com/olympics-2016-come-to-a-wrap/ Mon, 22 Aug 2016 00:13:47 +0000 http://leapinggiants.com/?p=227

Highlights from Olympics 2016

Team South Africa Leaping Giants Blog

Over the past 2 weeks, we have witnessed the world's greatest athletes compete in Rio. Team South Africa, we applaud you on competing and finishing with 10 medals. 2 Gold, 6 Silver and 2 Bronze.  With full hearts and great pride we congratulate each and everyone of you on your achievements. And for representing our country. It has been an exciting and at times tough 2 weeks for us, here in Magaliesburg, as we stayed up to watch some of the games as they aligned conveniently during our bedtime. It was great catching them live and connecting with the world as the games played on. For once the news was not just filled with doom and gloom of attacks here and there. For just 2 weeks it felt like we could all live happily ever after.

At leaping Giants we are firm believers in the active out door lifestyle. This means keeping our attendees active, unplugged and competitive. This helps them become the best version of themselves. Take time away from the everyday routines and eyes of their cell phones and tablets. We find that everyone actually benefits from this and participate in activities designed for their group with very limited distractions.

Wayde van Niekerk wins

The Olympics in part represent what we are all about at Leaping Giants: Sportsmanship, team work and competitive spirit. All happening here in the beautiful Magaliesburg region. The Olympics are also about the competitive spirit along with creating life long friendships. Take a look at the bond we witnessed over and over again. Usain Bolt, I believe at this point he needs no introduction, but just in case you have been under a rock these last few weeks, he is the undefeated 3 time Olympic champion from Jamaica. He walks over to Wayde van Niekerk of team South Africa and congratulates him on his win. How cool is that! It is not just tears at the Olympics after all, there are many friendship bonds created to last a lifetime Its good to see them smiling and laughing a lot. We also witnessed hugs from competing countries. That is the true sportsman spirit.

That moment when Usain Bolt congratulates Wayde van Niekerk

Caster Semenya kept us up last night as we waited on her 2:15am 800m womens race to start. She paced herself well and then separated herself from the pack within the last 100m to claim her gold title. So richly deserved.
